Yarn Tassel Wrapping Decoration

Instead of using a bow, I used yarn to create tassels to wrap around a gift. I just looked up how to make a tassel online and followed the directions.

The main change I made was the yarn that is tied at the top of the tassel is quite long in order to wrap around the gift.

I also made two of these tassels. I wrapped these yarn tassels around the gift and then tied the ends together (and then tied the excess yarn in the back and cut any excess yarn).

I thought it was pretty cute and warm looking. And it’s a good way to use up leftover yarn.

DIY: Paper Fan Flower Ornament

This ornament is based upon the Paper Fan Flower I created for packaging decoration. It’s simple and can add a pop of color as a Christmas tree ornament or as party decorations hung on the wall or hung from the ceiling.

DIY: Glitter Christmas Ornament

Used gift cards are made of a sturdy material so they’re a good base for glue and glitter. This is a simple and inexpensive Christmas ornament to make and I think the glitter helps make it feel quite festive.

This is a very simple flat circle paper ornament that’s easy to make and easy to personalize.

DIY: Folded Paper Napkin Ring

This is a simple way to create napkin rings that are just made out of paper—no gluing or taping required. They aren’t too hard to make, disposable and inexpensive.

DIY: Plastic Canvas Bangle

A bangle doesn’t require a clasp, so this bracelet takes only a few materials to create. The hardest part is figuring out the size that’s appropriate for your wrist.

DIY: Rubber Band Bracelet

I like using items I see and use every day in different ways. I had quite a few rubber bands and thought they could be tied together to make a quick and easy bracelet.

DIY: Tassel Embroidery Floss Earrings

Embroidery floss comes in a bunch of colors and isn’t terribly expensive (usually under 40 cents for a regular color, more for metallic). I had some embroidery floss and thought I could use it in creating earrings for a simple burst of color.

DIY: Plastic Canvas Jewelry

I picked up some more plastic canvas because I thought I’d be able to advantage of its grid pattern to make some jewelry. Plastic canvas comes in a few basic colors and I chose three sheets: black, white and blue. Each sheet cost me about 60 cents, and I was able to use it in a couple of ways to create some inexpensive costume jewelry.

There are two ways that I used to connect the plastic canvas together: elastic and jump rings.

Quick Valentines

I found this cute scrapbooking paper at a craft store and decided to turn it into quick valentines. I just cut out the images along the dotted lines and then pasted the image onto colored paper. It was super easy.
