Embroidery floss comes in a bunch of colors and isn’t terribly expensive (usually under 40 cents for a regular color, more for metallic). I had some embroidery floss and thought I could use it in creating earrings for a simple burst of color.
SUPPLIES
- Earring hooks (2)
- Jump rings (I used two 10mm and two 6mm size)
- Pliers
- Scissors
- Embroidery floss
DIRECTIONS
— 1 —
Cut the embroidery floss. (I cut 8 strands that were 9 inches long each.)
— 2 —
Thread all of the embroidery floss strands through a closed 10mm jump ring. Center the jump ring on the strands.
— 3 —
Create a loop and pull the jump ring through the loop, and slowly tighten to knot (and try to get the knot to be at the base of the jump ring).
— 4 —
With the pliers open a 6mm jump ring and connect it to the 10mm jump ring. Then attach the 6mm jump ring to an earring hook. Close the 6mm jump ring.
— 5 —
Trim the ends of the embroidery floss to the desired length. Repeat directions for the second earring. Tassel Embroidery Floss Earrings complete.
