Thrifted for $12.48

I got this cute teacup with a lid and strainer for $2.99. It looked like it was a handmade ceramic piece, and while I initially wasn’t all that excited about the ornate handle, it actually felt quite comfortable in my hand.

This is the strainer part. However, I accidently dropped this teacup, and the strainer was the most delicate part and it broke. Yes, that was stupid. I’ve convinced myself that I was unlikely to actually use the strainer part for loose-leaf tea anyway.

I also got this strainer for $3.99.

And this whisk for 50 cents.

And finally, I got this light-weight black skirt for $5. It has two layers of fabric and slits on both sides. This looks undoubtedly from the 1990s to me. I’ve been wanting a 90s skirt—this wasn’t quite what I had in mind but I like it quite a bit.

Syringe Wooden Box

My coworker gave me this cool wooden box because he knows I love old things. It’s quite nondescript from the outside—just a plain wooden box (with the latch missing).

But once it’s opened, it has information about Alpha Fountain Syringe and a nice illustration. The only downside to this box is that it has a strange smell that’s slightly medicinal.

Things I Didn’t Buy 34

Here are some medical supply tins. I really like that Vince tin.

I think both the Ex-Lax and Singer tins are well-designed.

And this first aid tin is perfectly simple.

I adore this Satisfaction Cut Plugs tin.

Finally, this Karbonap tin is awesome. My favorite part is that it’s “non explosive” (which makes me wonder what its competitors were like).

Vintage Wool Dress

I bought this wool dress at a thrift store for $10. I didn’t need it. Perhaps I shouldn’t have got it. But it was interesting…

The dress looks to be from the 1950s. It has kimono sleeves (which makes the top feel a bit large on me). It sort of fits. But I love all the details the dress has. I love the cute little collar. I like the buttons down the front. I adore the decorative stitching the top has (that goes all the way around). I love the pleated skirt. And the color is nice.

The dress needs some mending. It has maybe two small holes, the buttons are a little loose, and the sleeve stitching may need to be fixed. Truthfully, this warm wool dress isn’t the most useful of dresses (just because it’s only really cold a few months out of the year). But I would totally wear this dress…once I get around to fixing it.

Things I Didn’t Buy 33

I thought this Boy Scouts handbook was interesting.

This Fabulous Foods cookbook was rather impressive. I love the script font on the cover.

It was super thick book and divided into many sections. Each section began with a full-color illustration.

And then had cute 2-color drawings throughout the section. I liked this cookbook but restrained myself from getting another cookbook.

And finally, I really liked the cover on this sewing encyclopedia. So cute. But the interior didn’t interest me much.

More nice dresses. I really like the ones on the right page.

Adorable polka dot dresses.

And more cute dresses.
