I love scarves. And heaven knows I have more than I need. But in the aisles of a craft store, I was fingering the different yarns and thought, “I should learn to knit.”
I bought needles and yarn, and from online videos and library books I figured out how to knit and purl. But I never got much further than that; there are so many different yarn moves that I haven’t had the time/energy/ability to master them all. With all of the abbreviations, it’s like learning another language.
So thus far, I’ve only made scarves. Simple ones. I wanted to make a long thin scarf and chose this dusky blue for myself. I might have made it a smidge long, but I just got caught up in the motions; I could just watch TV and knit purl knit purl. It didn’t take me long to realize how fun and relaxing knitting can be…and how addictive.
