DIY: Flower Banner Card

I thought a simple flower card could be a nice all-purpose card, which depending on the message you wish to give could be easily be used for thank you, congratulations, thinking of you, happy birthday, for you, etc.

For an added pop of interest, I decided to create a banner that is glued to the card and creates some depth and a bit of fun.

SUPPLIES
  • Card (with a flower image on it)
  • Colored paper
  • Pencil
  • Pen
  • Ruler
  • X-acto knife
  • Scissors
  • Glue

DIRECTIONS

— 1 —
Cut out a 0.5 inch by 4 inch strip from the colored paper.

— 2 —
On the back of the colored paper strip, mark with the pencil at 0.75 inch and 1 inch and 3 inch and 3.25 inch.

— 3 —
Fold ends inward at 1 inch and 3 inch marks.

— 4 —
Fold ends outward at 0.75 inch and 3.25 inch marks.

— 5 —
With scissors, cut diagonally inwards at each corner to create the “ribbon ends”.

— 6 —
With the pen, write your message on the banner’s center panel.

— 7 —
On the back of the banner, apply glue on the “ribbon ends”.

— 8 —
Make sure the banner folds are folded and place the banner on the card. Flower Banner Card complete.

Note: I just drew the simple flower image on the card that I used in the directions. Alternatively, you could use clip art; in the photo below, I got this free flower image from Graphics Fairy.
